Why is England so dirty? Why do the English throw trash on the ground/floor instead of bins?

1. High Population Density –  More people means more waste, and busy areas often get overwhelmed, especially if bins overflow or aren't emptied frequently.
2. Lack of Public Bins – In some areas, there aren't enough bins, or they are removed due to security concerns (e.g., to prevent bomb threats).
3. Cultural Attitudes – While many English people care about cleanliness, there is a noticeable minority who don’t take responsibility for their waste. Some people litter because they assume someone else will clean it up.
4. Poor Enforcement of Littering Laws – While littering is illegal and fines exist, enforcement is inconsistent. In places where penalties are strictly applied (like Singapore), littering is much less common.
5. Street Cleaning Reliance – The UK has public services responsible for cleaning streets, which may lead some people to assume that dropping trash isn’t a big deal.
6. Drinking Culture & Nightlife – In city centers, litter often builds up after nights out, as people discard fast food packaging, cigarette butts, and bottles.

That said, many areas of England, especially in the countryside or well-kept towns, are very clean. It really depends on where you go.
